Past
Perfect Tense
The past perfect, is a verb tense used to talk about actions that were completed before some
point in the past.
We were shocked to discover that someone had graffitied “Tootles
was here” on our front door. We were relieved that Tootles had used washable
paint.
The past perfect tense is for talking about something that
happened before something else. Imagine waking up one morning and stepping
outside to grab the newspaper. On your way back in, you notice a mysterious
message scrawled across your front door: Tootles was here. When you’re telling
this story to your friends later, how would you describe this moment? You might
say something like:
I turned back to the house and saw that some someone named
Tootles had defaced my front door!

I don't really like doing research. But it needs to be done.

agree with you on that—no research,no business!

CONTINOUS
PRESENT PERFECT.
A continuación te explicamos algunos
I drink milk every day. He goes to
the gym often. I walk in the park on Sundays.
·
Referirnos a afirmaciones generales o
a hechos científicos. I
like chocolate. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. Adults don’t know
everything.
·
Para eventos que van a ocurrir con
seguridad en un futuro próximo. The train arrives at 6:12. Does the conference
start next Monday?
·
Para dar instrucciones, esto es, en
modo imperativo. Open
the door. Please finish your homework.
·
Describir acciones que están
sucediendo al mismo tiempo que hablamos. He is having dinner right now. Is it raining?
·
She is currently looking for a
flat. Are you studying a lot these days?
·
Hablar de eventos ya definidos que
ocurrirán en un futuro próximo. I’m not going to Samantha’s party next weekend. Are
you working next week?

No temas,
finalizado hace poco. Por ejemplo:
·
I have worked all day long –
actual: I have lived in
Barcelona since 1981. (Se entiende que todavía vives allí)
·
We have visited Barcelona few times.
·
Pasado muy reciente. Se usan adverbios que enfatizan que acaba
de suceder: She has
just eaten.
Estructura present perfect
auxiliar to have y el participio del verbo principal.
AUXILIAR TO
HAVE EN PRESENTE + PAST
PARTICIPLE
We have arrived, she has arrived
presente es: HAS
·
Si la frase es negativa:
AUXILIAR TO
HAVE EN PRESENTE + NOT + PAST PARTICIPLEWe haven’t arrived
haven’t
·
Si la frase es interrogativa:
AUXILIAR TO
HAVE EN PRESENTE + sujeto + PAST PARTICIPLE
Have they arrived?
